Pathways to Specialisation
Diplomates of Non-EBVS Recognised Colleges
e.g. FRCPath, ACVM
Please note that there are no agreements in place for mutual recognition of international qualifications such as the American Board Examination. However, the ECVM may temporarily grant Associate Diplomate status for up to 5 years to applicants with major potential contribution to the College, provided the applicant meets the following minimum conditions.
Minimum Conditions

Equivalent Credentials
Has credentials in relation to education, training, and publications in the discipline that are equal to those required to sit the ECVM qualifying examination.

Equivalent Examination
Has passed an examination of equal rigour and covering similar material to that of the equivalent Diplomate of ECVM.

Re-certification
Passes the ECVM re-certification process.

Practising in Europe
Is practising in a European country and intends to remain so for the foreseeable future. Applicants may be relieved of this requirement in exceptional cases.
Please note: Associate Diplomate status granted under this route is temporary, lasting up to 5 years. It is subject to the applicant demonstrating major potential contribution to the College.
